Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 Motorcycle tyres are M+S marked adventure tyres which are tuned to cater for riders who spend the majority of the time on the road, but still want to have dependable performance when the path of the adventure turns to trails and loose surfaces. Assigned to the Dual Sport category, Michelin has adhered to the approximately 80% road and 20% trail usage concept, which makes these tyres ideal for use on adventure touring, everyday riding, long distance and occasional off-road, but not for dedicated technical off-road riding.
The tyre incorporates an optimised tread pattern with new high-performance silica-based compounds to aid wet-road grip and controllable traction on lighter trail surfaces. Michelin 2CT dual-compound technology has put emphasis on the durability of the centre while providing grip towards the shoulders. Its Reinforced Radial-X Evo and Aramid Shield construction have been designed to promote stability, comfort and resistance against all kinds of riding conditions. The improved tread design has been developed to target the reduction of road noise, which is particularly useful when undertaking long adventure-touring trips.
Fitments available cater to modern adventure and trail motorcycles, with Michelin specifying the likes of the BMW R1250 GS and R1300 GS, Honda Africa Twin, Yamaha Ténéré, Ducati Multistrada, Triumph Tiger, KTM Super Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom, Aprilia Tuareg, Moto Guzzi V85 and Kawasaki Versys. As with all motorcycle tyres, it is the motorcycle model, manufacturing year, wheel size and manufacturer-approved tyre dimensions that will dictate the exact fitment, and as such it is important that the rider confirms the correct required fitment before ordering.
For example, Michelin specifies a 120/70 R19 60V front specification and 170/60 R17 72V rear specification for several of the compatible adventure motorcycles. In practice, the 120/70 R19 identifies the front tyre dimensions, while the 60V indicates its load and speed rating; the corresponding 170/60 R17 72V specification will be used at the rear on the applicable motorcycles. Michelin's vehicle selector should be used to determine the exact approved size for a given bike.
