Michelin Scorcher 11 Motorcycle tyres are cruiser-focused road tyres which have been developed as original-equipment fitments for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. A combination of a sporty profile, road-orientated grip, handling and everyday usability, the range is designed to offer an opportunity for the rider to experience the response of a powerful cruiser. Using a semi-slick pattern to offer a huge contact patch for outstanding dry-road adhesion, the optimised grooves help to evacuate water to provide dependable wet-road grip. Michelin Scorcher 11 Motorcycle tyres are positioned specifically for Harley-Davidson cruiser motorcycles, highlighting excellent grip, tread life and precise handling as key characteristics.
The range is available in a variety of front and rear sizes which fit a number of Harley-Davidson applications. Verified sizes include 100/80-17 52H TL and 140/75 R17 67V TL for front applications, plus rear options such as 140/75 R15 65H TL, 150/60 ZR17 (66W) TL, 150/70 ZR17 (69W) TL, 180/55 R17 73W TL, 200/55 R17 78V TL and 240/40 R18 79V TL. Listed Scorcher 11 fitments include 120/70 ZR18 59W TL, 120/70 ZR19 60W TL, 130/60 B21 63H TL and 160/60 R18 70V TL, depending on the motorcycle application and market specification.
The construction varies across the approved sizes, with radial and other construction markings across the range. TL indicates a tubeless tyre, while the load and speed markings specify the carrying capacity and approved speed capability of the individual size. 180/55 R17 73W, for example, indicates that it has a 180 mm nominal width, 55% aspect ratio, 17-inch rim diameter, 73 load index and W speed rating; Michelin explain that a 73 load index indicates a maximum single tyre load of 365 kg and W is 270 km/h. The load index and speed rating must always match the motorcycle manufacturer's approved specification.
Compatible motorcycles are primarily Harley Davidson cruiser and sport-cruiser models for which the specific Scorcher 11 size is approved. Applications have included selected Sportster, Street, V-Rod, Fat Boy models and others from the Harley Davidson range, but the compatibility depends on the model year, wheel configuration, position and exact tyre specification. Always check the motorcycle's homologated size, load index and speed rating before ordering. Michelin recommend using the dimensions stated by the motorcycle manufacturer for road use.
