Michelin Pilot Street Radial 150/60 R17 M/C 66H TL/TT Rear Tyre

The Michelin Pilot Street Radial 150/60 R17 M/C 66H TL/TT is a rear motorcycle tyre offering the advantages of a radial construction for riders of smaller and mid-sized motorcycles. It is a Sport Touring fitment incorporating a road-centric specification and radial carcass to balance performance on the commute, for highway use and for everyday cornering. Michelin cites the Pilot Street Radial as a radial tyre for smaller motorcycles, with the 150/60 R17 66H specification being listed for the rear fitment. The 150/60 R17 size offers a nominal 150 mm section width, 60-series aspect ratio and compatibility with a 17-inch wheel. The “R” denotes the radial construction and the 66H rating indicates the tyre’s load and speed rating. The TL/TT designation indicates the specification being listed for tubeless/tube-type applications, but the correct setup is always determined by the motorcycle manufacturer-approved tyre and wheel specification. Michelin also explains that radial construction incorporates materials which reinforce the tyre structure with flexible sidewalls to maintain handling and ride characteristics. The tyre is relevant to motorcycles specifying 150/60 R17 rear fitment. Documented Michelin fitment includes the Honda CBR300R where the Pilot Street Radial is specified in 150/60 R17 M/C 66H for the rear. The TVS Apache RR 310 owner’s manual also specifies a Michelin Pilot Street Radial 150/60-R17 rear tyre. These examples illustrate the importance of checking the exact motorcycle model, year and manufacturer-approved tyre size prior to ordering. For riders, the radial construction is designed to offer a more supple sidewall response, stability and comfort on imperfections in the road. Michelin’s published technical information also highlights a wider, shorter contact patch in comparison to conventional bias construction, and a 100% silica compound combined with grooved tread for wet-road grip. The tread design has been derived from Michelin’s sport touring radial range which provides this rear tyre with a road-centric character for everyday riding and spirited road use.
