Metzeler Tourance140/80 R17 69H M/C TL Rear Tyre

Metzeler Tourance 140/80 R17 69H M/C TL is a rear tubeless radial tyre made for the dual-purpose and street-oriented Enduro motorcycles. Ideal for those looking to mix up their paved-road touring with the occasional gravel and light off-road section, this tyre boasts the perfect mix of stability, handling, traction and durability. The 140/80 R17 denotes the width, aspect ratio and 17-inch radial construction, while the 69H rating denotes a maximum load of 325 kg per tyre and an H speed rating of up to 210 km/h under the right conditions. For a Dual Sport rear tyre, Metzeler has made a tread pattern which takes into account frequent riding on roads, but with features which make it stick to the ground on the off-road bit too. A broad central block treads offer broad road contact for excellent road grip and stability, while wider blocks along the sides assist with grip and stability when leaning the bike into a bend. Variable-width grooves are designed to lead water away from the contact patch, making the pattern appropriate for those encountering a mix of road types on the same trip and riding on wet weather. The radial construction of the rear of the tyre uses a 0° steel-belted design, with a light carcass. Metzeler claims this helps to spread out the forces of the contact patch, improving stability and road holding – even when riding on the road at higher speeds. They also claim the use of a carbon black and silica compound to provide mileage and lasting whilst still being able to offer the grip needed on both wet and dry roads. This size is relevant to compatible adventure, Enduro and dual-purpose motorcycles which call for a 140/80 R17 rear tyre. Compatibility should always be checked with the bike manufacturer’s recommended tyre sizes, load index, speed rating and wheels requirements before a purchase is made. Metzeler’s own motorcycle catalogue can be used to check for model and size based fitments for compatible motorcycles and homologated tyre applications.
