Metzeler Sportec M7 RR Motorcycle tyres are sport-oriented road tyres engineered for the rider who seeks agile handling, dependable grip and responsive cornering on the varying road and weather conditions. Created from the Metzeler road-racing expertise, the SPORTEC M7 RR tyre embodies a high level of stiffness, road-specific profile, full-silica composition and Interact™ technology to provide sporty performance on dry, wet and cooler roads.
The tyre is designed in the Super Sport riding category, and is applicable for motorcycles using the corresponding approved tyre dimensions. Available sizes include 130/70 ZR 16 for the front and a number of 17-inch front and rear applications, including 110/70 ZR 17, 120/60 ZR 17, 120/70 ZR 17, 150/60 ZR 17, 160/60 ZR 17, 180/55 ZR 17, 190/50 ZR 17 and 190/55 ZR 17. Load and speed rating varies depending on the size, for example, the 110/70 ZR 17 front is rated 54W, whereas the 150/60 ZR 17 rear is rated 66W and 190/55 ZR 17 rear is rated 75W. The M7 RR is a tubeless motorcycle tyre specification, and a proper fitment should always consider the motorcycle manufacturer’s approved size and rating.
The tread pattern incorporates wide drainage grooves, a variable depth, width and a central slick section to balance water evacuation, stability and road contact. A full-silica single compound is applied for the front, while applicable rear sizes take a 40%-20%-40% dual compound layout. The high-silica central area is designed to support high-speed stability and mileage, while the full-silica shoulder areas provide chemical-grip performance in the wet. Metzeler also claims for 20% more mileage over the SPORTEC M5 INTERACT™ for its comparison basis.
